laws in foreign countries.

Unique Country Driving Laws

  • The Police is allowed to take your registration plate away, if you have parked illegaly.

Speed Limits

For a standard Avis rental vehicle with no trailers:
  • Urban areas: 50 km/h
  • Rural areas: 90 km/h
  • Motorways: 130 km/h

There could be speed changes indicated by road signs!

Child Safety / Seatbelt Laws

It is compulsory for all people inside the vehicle to wear a seatbelt.
  • Children between 3 and 11 years, measuring less than 135cm must be seated in an appropriate child restraint for their size.

Please ask your Avis representative to help fit your child with the correct child seat.
